The past few days have been rather unremarkable. Warbler numbers have gradually become more consolidated, including 30-40 Whitethroats, comprising mostly singing males, and 4-5 reeling Grasshopper Warblers. 4 Cuckoos are now present at the south end with presumably 2 different birds at the Pye's Hall end. Other recent birds of note were a Whinchat and Marsh Harrier on 28th, a Ring Ouzel on 29th, a Mediterranean Gull, Common Redstart and the first Garden Warbler on 30th, a Short-eared Owl and Black Redstart on 1st May and 2 Jays, the first Reed Warbler and the first Turtle Dove on 2nd.
