Our local Kestrels have started feeding their young this weekend.
The nest site is an old Magpie's nest but for obvious reasons I am not prepared to divulge the actual location until after the young have left so we probably have about a further 28 days to go. I am particularly interested in the type of food they bring. Today I am confident the diet consisted of LT Field Mouse and just once what seemed very much like a Starling.
5 Whimbrel at the Hobhole outfall late this evening.
I have also witnessed a rather noisy Shelduck this evening, normally a rather silent bird, 15 House Martins mobbing a female Sparrowhawk and a nest site for Linnet in marramgrass. Its been an interesting day!
