Got back, from a long weekend in Cornwall with our son, at 20:00 yesterday.
As we got out of the car I was pleased to hear a Cuckoo singing on my patch.
The bird was still present and singing strongly this morning and at one stage was visible from my garden.
The average return date for Cuckoo on my patch over the last 7 years is 23rd April with the earliest date being 18th April and the latest 27th April. It was beginning to look as if this year would be a blank one but fortunately not. Let us all hope the Cuckoos fates improve in the future.
