The shrike seen between Stonebridge and Pye's Hall and initially reported as a possible Isabelline was refound in the afternoon and confirmed as definitely being of this species. It was watched at close range and well-photographed by amongst others, SL, GPC, ND, CA, MJ, BC, KR, CH and SM. It was unconcerned by our presence and was in bushes by the track on the landside of the dunes just before the Pye's Hall flag-pole and old pig sties.
Also at Pye's Hall were 2 Marsh Harriers, Firecrest and Yellow-browed Warbler. Nothing exceptional was recorded at the south end in the morning.
