A quick wander round this morning produced:
Goosander - 3 (1m + 2f) my first returning birds this autumn Red-crested Pochard - the drake and his mate Shoveler - 5 Gadwall - 13 Wigeon - 95 Tufted Duck - 25 Great crested Grebe - 3
A Buzzard showed very well low over the lakes and trees as it was pursued by a Carrion Crow.
A roving party of 7 Long-tailed Tits and 5 Blue Tits also had a single Goldcrest in tow.
At least 2 Jays and a Great spotted Woodpecker were very vocal.
Hartsholme Park
Goosander - 1 fem showing exceptionally well along the channel towards the south end of the park.
