Glossy Ibis still present this evening, even if it was being harassed a bit by an Avocet!

Also Turtle Dove in hedgerow, sometimes perching on the post that the nest box used to be attached to, and Barn Owl.

Went after hearing something on Twitter about a Bittern being seen, along with Water Rail and Sandwich Tern - I am 1 away from my Year Target and hoped one of these would be the one.... alas no. Scarpered before the rain started.

Hi Katherine.

Bittern was still present tonight. Was first seen flying from reedbed yesterday morning. I chanced upon it in the ditch below the hedgerow last night and Ian Ellis saw it again this evening (in the same place, I think). As you know, the cover is super dense in that area, and views into it are through the few scant breaks in the hedgerow. Much patience and/or luck is required, but definitely worth the time, obviously.

Along with the usual, also about this evening were:-

Glossy Ibis x 1 (as per Ian)
Green Sandpiper x 4
Snipe x 16
Ruff x 5
Turtle Dove x 1
Corn Bunting x 1
Lesser Whitethroat x 1
Barn Owl x 1
