Hi Katherine.
Bittern was still present tonight. Was first seen flying from reedbed yesterday morning. I chanced upon it in the ditch below the hedgerow last night and Ian Ellis saw it again this evening (in the same place, I think). As you know, the cover is super dense in that area, and views into it are through the few scant breaks in the hedgerow. Much patience and/or luck is required, but definitely worth the time, obviously.

Glossy Ibis x 1 (as per Ian) Green Sandpiper x 4 Snipe x 16 Ruff x 5 Turtle Dove x 1 Corn Bunting x 1 Lesser Whitethroat x 1 Barn Owl x 1
