Still present as darkness fell this evening. Spent most of the time on the far bank of the reservoir, but moved to the centre of the reservoir for 20-25 minutes for a bit of swim. Lovely, little charismatic bird.
Approximately c2500 Black-tailed godwit on the reservoir too, with a handful of knot and dunlin amongst them, and plenty lapwing and wigeon present as well.
To top things off, a woodcock flew out of the bank about ten yards in front of me on the walk back to the car, before disappearing into the darkness over the grassland. Another reminder that my favourite season has definitely arrived.
