Reported showing this morning at 0830 (10.10.2014)

Please park in the beach car park opposite the shop at TF 551 761 (at the end of sea road) and look for the bird on the wires with the starling flock. Please respect the privacy of locals.

Please use the local shop and support the local economy!

Thanks

Derek,

YES, reported.....

I always posted ANY news on rare birds that I haven't seen as REPORTED. This is for TWO reasons;

1) So in the annual bird report the record isn't credited to me...

And..

2) So there is NO confusion that I have actually seen and verified the identification. Having not seen this bird, I can't confirm the ID is correct, that the location or directions are correct and/or that the record is in fact quenuine...

I feel it is important to 'report' all bird records sent to the website, and marking them as 'reported', ensures, that if you drive all the way from Nottingham and find that the facts are incorrect, you can't complain that the Lincolnshire Bird Club website has misled you in anyway. Please remember that the LBC Forum is not a paid-up bird information service, there are several well known services available, which will hopefully check out ALL the news they receive and therefore be more reliable.

Having said that I have just received a rather nice photo (from Phil Hyde) of the reported adult Rose-coloured starling, from Anderby Creek, taken this morning. I think I might go and take a look this weekend....

Re "reported":Very wise precaution.

Re the bird: Does anyone know if it was still present up to dusk?

Handsome bird that provides a rerminder of Anderby Creek's birding potential. :D

Note also the unusual blackbird nearby
