From the Witham bank this afternoon I saw a large raptor being mobbed by two corvids. About the size of a Buzzard, but my impression was of longer wings. The most striking feature was the rump and uppertail which was white - not pale - and contrasted strongly with brown upperparts and a darker tailband. Paler below but nothing else seen. It wasn't close and drifted off towards Wasp's Nest; watched for a couple of minutes or so. Also c10 Redwings in the hawthorns - my first of the autumn, after Andy Sims saw his in Lincoln yesterday.
