Alkborough Flats today was awash with thousands of waders all being kept on their toes by the Marsh Harriers and Peregrines.
Surprise bird was a Great White Egret seen from tower hide.
Has it been here long and unreported or is it the one seen the other day at Thorne Moors relocating perhaps?

I have been to Alkborough a few times this week and have not seen a Great White Egret, but didn't go to the tower hide. I have heard no reports of a Great White being in the general area since the one at Thornton Abbey.

Thank you Roy, the GWE was seen by 5 of us (myself and my 2 mates) and 2 other visiting birders from the tower hide between 10.45 and 11.30 ish and was still there when we left to walk around the rest of the reserve.
A GWE was on Thorne Moors on Monday 17th this week as per Tom Lowe's photo on the Thorne Moors Birding Blog
