Couldn't resist sharing my sightings of the minimum numbers of lesser redpolls in my front garden since Christmas. I suspect that they have been there everyday since the turn of New Year with me just not recording them on a few days. The garden at the front is of minimal size with a tiny square of lawn ruined by niger seed scattered by hungry redpolls and goldfinch. The feeders are hung in a small flowering cherry tree. Funnily enough without having these birds everyday I would have seen just two this year

My thoughts exactly, Phil. To get regular texts from Chris with increasing numbers provoked jealousy. Mind I think the half hour sat in Chris's living room provided my Lesser Redpoll for the year!
