A total of just 9 Tree Pipits in Laughton forest today, usually about 30 by this date: also 70+ Willow Warblers , first Whitethroat but alas no Cuckooo or a Redstart but a notable influx of Nuthatches that continue to increase and spread into new areas. At Barton pits still eerily quiet just 3 Sedge tonight and first Reed Warbler yesterday but no passage waders: 90 Sand Martins and 12 Swallows and Cettis Warblers up by one
On the 13th still 110 Snipe and one Jack Snipe at Alkborough with 240 Black-tails and 300 Avocets, 56 Redshank and 165 Curlew still waiting to depart.
