A red-n Phalarope is reported at RSPB Frampton Marsh this morning, on wet grassland to the west of the road.
John Badley considers that it is a male, as was the one that was there a few days ago, but this could possibly be a different individual.

Just to clarify Roy's post a little.

I found the Red-necked Phalarope earlier today. It's in the same series of pools as the previous bird, although my impression was that the bird is slightly more vivid. Granted, I didn't have my scope so I was stuck with views through my bins, but the crown, in particular, appeared much darker and the red on the neck seemed more extensive.

I presume that you have spoken to somebody on the reserve, Roy? It's just that I think that John Badley is in Colombia at the moment!

Hi Dan,

I was in touch with JB via text message before posting the message, and he said he thought it was a male.
JB did not indicate that he was abroad at this time.
It would have been good if it was a female - but nice find anyway!
