01 August:

RSPB Freiston Reserve

Reasonable numbers of waders over the morning's high tide - mainly Oycs, Knot, Dunlin and Redshank with a single Curlew Sandpiper. The Reservoir was nearly dry but had a few Dunlin, LRP juvenile, single Knot and a couple of Black-tailed Godwits. A juvenile Marsh Harrier drifted overhead.

Frampton had Golden Plover x 10, Whimbrel x 6, single Greenshank, a Ringed Plover with 3 very small young and a Little Stint. Looking out over the salt marsh in the afternoon produced SEO x 3, Marsh Harrier x 6, Kestrel x 8 and a female Sparrowhawk.

02 August:

High tide at Gib produced thousands of waders - mainly Knot, Dunlin, Oycs, Bat-tailed Godwits and Turnstone, with smaller numbers of Grey and Golden Plovers, Sanderling and Whimbrel. There were c 50 Sandwich Terns, 10 Common and two Little plus 4 Arctic Skuas. There were three Turtle Doves in the scrub around Mill Hill, a single Spoonbill on Jacksons and singles of Spotted Redshank, Whimbrel and Greenshank on Tennysons.

Called in at LWT Kirkby Pit on the way home and found an Avocet with 2 young, 2 LRP's with 1 young, a Marsh Harrier female plus two juveniles, a Tufted Duck with 7 small young and a brief Kingfisher.

04 August:
