It was very quiet could hear the proverbial pin drop =D>

Late afternoon a mate pulls up and we had a natter about this and that and whatever  was your ears burning  I was in car and he outside, he kept scanning while I kept gabbing as you do. After a while he got excited and said summat good is coming or as he called it a beauty, get out car Max so I struggled to get out and asked what was coming he said an Osprey! Got me bins and by crikey it was, making straight for the usual fishing pond, got me camera out and started to video it, but the light wasn't good and it was a long way off, anyway carried on, SW said its diving for a fish and I said yes it is aren't we lucky. It came straight back up and SW said its got a fish with that it flew towards the barn and then came back our way, with this I took a few pics and even if I hadn't was well chuffed! The Ossy made its way towards the dead tree and we were going down to the other parking area to get a better view when it went straight past and flew upwards and over the river Trent and disappeared! We were both highly delighted! Not every day we see a magnificent Osprey, that's my second local one this year, I'll have to change me name to Ossy  .

SW waited a little longer and then flew. Another pal drew up a while after SM who I hadn't seen for a long time, so another chat developed and I showed him my pics/video. I left at 20:00 as it was getting a bit chilly. The bird should stay awhile so hope to get to see it again.

Seeing 45 Peacock and another 40 butterflies including 4 Painted Lady made my day but seeing Ossy made it even better!

Thanks to SW for spotting Ossy =D>

Kind regards

John :D :D
