Checked hedges round cow fields this morning, 1st time for 10 days having been away:-
1 Spotted Flycatcher
2 Lesser Whitethroats
1 Whitethroat
1 female Blackcap
c10 Chiffchaffs, 2 singing.

1 female Redstart
1 Lesser Whitethroat
2 Whitethroats
1 Blackcap
1 Chiffchaff

Female Redstart still present this afternoon, also 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 1 Whitethroat, 1 male Blackcap & 2 Chiffchaffs.
17 lapwings on newly ploughed field.
1 Hobby and 4 Swifts.

Female Redstart still present this afternoon in hedge on opposite side of field.
No sign of this mornings Spotted Flycatchers.

After we left the stunning redstart, Colin Scott relocated the spotted flycatchers about 15:30 this afternoon. They were in the area where Andy had found them earlier in the day but somewhat mobile as some of the cows insisted on feeding close to the hedge where they were perched. They then flew across the field from the north hedge to the one on the south side of the field. There were numerous willow warblers, chiffchaff, greenfinch, goldfinch and linnet in the area too. I also noted a female blackcap in the large hedge south of the catch water drain
