At least 4400 pinks this am at Reads but many had probably gone out to feed as I counted just over 6300 last weekend during my roost count.
Also today at Reads 1395 avocets on high tide - a conservative estimate from photographs of flying birds.
Most had dispersed to the north eastern edge by 10am.
Dunlin 1140
Black tailed godwit 41
Teal 1100 (2200 last Saturday)
Wigeon 241
Ringed plover 27
Golden plover 700

But strangely very few curlew or lapwing.

90 Pink footed Geese headed east-south-east late pm over Dunston also on Sat 17th Oct
