Two walks today; 32 species in the morning and 28 in the afternoon. Personal highlights:
Shoveler 1 drake, the first for nearly two years
Grey Partridge 7
Little Egret 1 (but no Grey Heron yet!)
Fieldfare an enormous flock in three big adjacent winter wheat fields; after two attempts at counting I estimated a minimum of 500; only 3 Redwing with them as far as I could see
Jay 1 heard, my first of the year
Tree Sparrow a very mobile flock which I could only estimate, at least 30
Redpoll 3, also my first of the year
Greenfinch as Roy Harvey suggested, I have never seen so many as this year
