Managed to free a Coot that had been badly tethered by fishing line.

Friday (29th) afternoon....

Smew (Red-head), Slavonian Grebe and Scaup - one of each still present.

Also, 17 Goldeneye, 5 Little Grebe, 23 Great crested Grebe, 30 Gadwall, 63 Pochard, 2 Snipe (landed in fields to the north), 29 Tufted Duck, 200 Coot and c50 Fieldfare in the field to the left as you approach the site, with a few Redwing amongst them.

Slavonian Grebe, Smew and Scaup still present this morning.

Also c120 Pink-footed Geese flew over, heading west,
Cormorant - 8
Green Woodpecker - 1
Shelduck - 2
Coot - 174
Little Grebe - 2
Tufted Duck - 59
Great Crested Grebe - 19
Pochard - 63
Gadwall - 26
Goldeneye - 17
Teal - 6 (3 pairs in the dyke to the north)
Skylark - first snatch of a spring song!

Visit today in glorious sunshine but chilly wind !

Slavonian , Female Scaup and Female smew still present .

Counts across the reservoir 29 Great Crested Grebe , 39 Goldeneye both sexes but males displaying continually .

Didnt count - coot , pochard and tufties .

7 Pied wags on the bank .

The Slavonian Grebe was still present at 12.30 today, but I didn't see Smew or Scaup.

Still at least 20 Goldeneye, together with large numbers of Great Crested Grebe, Pochard, Tufted Ducks, Coot - and a single Little Grebe giving good comparison.

Pochard - 95 (similar number of Coot)
G C Grebe - 20 (for the second consecutive visit enjoyed watching the courtship display / weed dance)
Teal - 1
Gadwall - 24
Tufted Duck - 104
Goldeneye - 19
