The evening commute was brightened considerably by a GWE which flew steadily west across Yarborough Road near to the Newport/Longdales Road junction. I was waiting for a chance to join the traffic on the roundabout when it appeared quite low over the trees and came towards me at about 5.40p.m. Apologies to all those who had to wait behind me until I was sure I had identified it correctly! The regular Little Egret was perched up in the scrub by the Bypass/ Nettleham Road roundabout yesterday.
