The Lincolnshire Bird Club

Another good day. At the south end a Cetti's Warbler, Willow Warbler and 2 Mealy Redpolls were amongst the birds trapped and ringed. The main migrants noted were 300 Redwings, 15 Fieldfares, 75 Song Thrushes, 50 Blackbirds, 3 Ring Ouzels, one Stonechat, one Whinchat, 2 Wheatears, one Black Redstart, 2 Pallas's Warblers, one Yellow-browed Warbler, 10 Blackcaps, 80 Goldcrests, 43 Bramblings and 8 Mealy Redpolls. Two Shore Larks were still on the beach. A Hen Harrier was noted, also 63 White-fronted Geese and 4 Bean Geese which were not racially determined. The Red-flanked Bluetail remained near the Stonebridge car-park where a new Siberian Stonechat had arrived. Between here and Pye's Hall, sightings included 2 Common Stonechats, one Wheatear, 3 Ring Ouzels, 5 Chiffchaffs, 20 Bramblings and singles of Woodcock, Hen Harrier, Marsh Harrier and Peregrine.

Around Stonebridge additional were 2 Yellow broweds, Firecrest, the Sib chat a first winter male maura, 7+ Ring Ouzels, 70 Goldcrests, a locustella late afternoon and another bird that disappeared into a grass tussock and was never seen again: Redstart, Garden Warbler, 60+ Skylarks and the odd Dunnock
