Another very blustery visit to Frampton Marsh made birding tricky with few sheltered spots. A productive and enjoyable 7 hours covering the reserve though.
Migrants; Yellow Wagtail - 2 White Wagtail - 14 Sedge Warbler - 3 Chiffchaff - 2 Blackcap - 1 Wheatear - 5 Swallow - 1 Little Ringed Plover - 2 Common Tern - 1
Wet grassland Relocated the adult Black Brant late afternoon associating with c.300 Dark bellied Brent and showing well. Also noted; Dunlin - 32 Black-tailed Godwit - 6 Ringed Plover - 18 Avocet - 23 Ruff - 8 Redshank - 24 Lapwing - 52 Oystercatcher - 5 Pintail - 6 (3m+3f) Mallard - 10 Teal - 37 Shelduck - 83 Dark bellied Brent - 126 but flocks mobile coming in and out to bathe Wigeon - 95 Greylag - 6 Tufted Duck - 4 Gadwall - 38 Little Egret - 5 Reed Bunting - 1 Corn Bunting - 1 Skylark - few singing
Scrapes Black-tailed Godwit - 21 Ruff - 7 Avocet - 53 Lapwing - 10 Ringed Plover - 3 Dunlin - 11 Dark bellied Brent - 110 but flocks coming and going as birds came in to bathe Shoveler - 34 Shelduck - 25 Wigeon - 17 Teal - 4 Tufted Duck - 4 Little Egret - 1 Black headed Gull - sev hundred
Reedbed Pochard - 4 Tufted Duck - 14 Black headed Gull - few hundred in breeding colony.
Saltmarsh Linnet - c.40 Meadow Pipit - 2 Curlew - 4
