A male was calling this morning around 10.15, just north east of Sutton St James, and another (sex not determined) flew across in its direction.

As on Monday, I heard a male calling at about 10.30 this morning (just before it changes its tune tomorrow) and saw another fly shortly afterwards. Near Sutton St James.

Cheers

Jonathan

A male cuckoo was heard calling in two fairly brief bursts shortly after 7 this morning. Sutton St James area again.

Despite my earlier comments, this seems to have developed into a better year in terms of number of calling males around here, certainly more than in the previous four or five.
Many thanks for posing the original question Paul.
