A visit between 0520 and 0630 (was there at 0430 but don't bother - its too dark!!!) recorded the following from the bridleway between Reserve pit and North pit:
294 Greylag Goose
242 Black-headed Gull
8 Lesser Black-backed Gull
3 Greater Black-backed Gull
2 Little Ringed Plover
3 Ringed Plover
4 Green Sandpiper
2 Common Tern, 8 juv
1 Snipe
1 Kingfisher
4 Little Grebe with 2 yg!
3 Shoveler
1 Great Crested Grebe
5 Swallows heading due South!
No Turtle Doves or Swifts.
Pit North of the reserve:
1 Willow Warbler
1 Sedge Warbler
1 Sparrowhawk cruising over the bushes.
