Spotted crake on the central scrape, in the pool closest to and viewable from the East Hide (from 3.45pm).

Although there is only a modest amount of cover, due to the nature of this species it is quite possible that a lot of patience and/or luck will be required to see it.

Found by Graham Figg/Paul French.

Can anyone going to this give me a lift down, from Sleaford Road?

Couple of hours this evening didn't produce the Crake.
Very few people actually there looking.

Did see:
Merlin
Green Sandpiper
Kestrel

On the way home it was raining and encountered dozens of toads crossing the wet roads.

Thanks Paul - an hour after I left. Had about 3 hours in the hide with about 10 others and no sighting. However a close wheatear entertained. Lots of juvenile goldfinches in with adults along the path - always a delight to see.
