Spotted crake on the central scrape, in the pool closest to and viewable from the East Hide (from 3.45pm). Although there is only a modest amount of cover, due to the nature of this species it is quite possible that a lot of patience and/or luck will be required to see it. Found by Graham Figg/Paul French. John |

Couple of hours this evening didn't produce the Crake. Very few people actually there looking. Did see: Merlin Green Sandpiper Kestrel On the way home it was raining and encountered dozens of toads crossing the wet roads. |

Had about 3 hours in the hide with about 10 others and no sighting. However a close wheatear entertained. Lots of juvenile goldfinches in with adults along the path - always a delight to see. Hugh |
