My 1st visit to Freiston today, between 10.00 am - 1.00 pm with the following being present 20+ Pintails 80+ black Tailed Godwits 7 Little Eagret 2 Avocets 1 Whimbrel 3 Ruff 1 Wheatear (fantastic view, 2-3 yards away on post where's my camara when you need it?) 2 Kestrel 12 Whinchat 1 Little Stint on Reservoir 10+ Redshanks Lots of Skylarks,Swallows,Martins (No Swifts) etc. Couldn't get to the Lincolnshire Bird Club hide on the Witham mouth due to the amount of cows at the stiles near the entrance, pity because there was lots of waders on the mudflats. The Osprey was sitting on the small wreck between 19:00 and 19:40. Graham Hardy & Derek Pell. |
