SEEN FROM FAR OFF - whoever was birdwatching at Witham Mouth late this afternoon must have had a goosebump-inducingly incredible sight before their eyes. I focused my telescope on a single flock of what must have been 60-70,000 waders contorting and twisting around in the air. It was like watching a lava lamp!
