Heaven for half an hour this morning when I was the only person on the beach
Highlights today

spoonbill 6 - non with a ring that I could see
little egret 12
black tailed godwit c100
green sandpiper 5
turnstone 2
sandwich tern c200
common tern 24
little tern 10
whimbrel 1
artic skua 5
gannet 52
common sandpiper 1
little ringed plover 2
grey plover 1
greenshank 23
avocet c20
house martin 30
yellow wagtail 1
mute swan 1 on the mere with what looked like a light covering of oil on the breast

a few more birds seen today gib point whitethroat =40 . sedge warbler =5 . reed warbler = 5. three great spotted woodpeckers. and hights was to see the red backed shrike near the centra in the bushes at the back of the staff car park . if any you birders is about on fridays at 12.00 noon till four oclock come to the centra to see me itwill nice to put a faces to names and whats going on at the reserve as well . john lusby . maybe i will put my hand in my pocket by you a cup of tea
