pyes hall today miserable overcast and drizzle plus the wind hic no where near the bird numbers around today had 2.5 hrs alone till colin turned up but the birding was still very good and the smaller numbers made things more managable. yesterday a lot of lincs birders were in the area and apart from roys report nothing much was said, i think like myself with everything constantly on the move it was impossible to count things the volume of robins was overwhelming and it was the same at blakeney on monday. anyway today at pyes 4 redstart (seen more redstarts in 2 days in lincs than in my previous 4 yrs) 2 pied fly 5 spot fly 4 siskin 2 brambling 50 robin estimate 4 lap bunts 2 chiffy 15 goldcrest 50 goldfinch 50 linnet 1 yellow browed warbler ring ouzel 2 small flights of brents 100 bird est plus numerous common species blue-great tits dunnocks wrens 5 greenshank 20 dunlin 2 knot in the outfall then on to covenham didnt see the phal distant views of roy and linda red necked grebe near yacht club thats all folks ![]() ![]() terry whalin ![]() ![]() |
