A couple of hours there from first light, very foggy mostly, cleared up as we left! No owls seen but following highlights: 1 Ringtail Harrier ( near train lines) 8 Kestrel 1 Marsh Harrier 1 Common Buzzard 1 GS Woodpecker (very vocal in copse by car park) 1 Pied Wag c40 Redwing over 3 Wren c20 Goldfinch 5 Linnet c20 Long Tail Tit 2 Willow Tit Will return there for an hour or two this evening. Oct 7th: 19.00 - 19.20 On way home from Spurn [report in non Lincs section ] called in the hope of seeing the SEO. By time I arrived it was misty and almost dark I could see two owls hunting yards apart between the railway and the copse further east. I believe the birds were Barn Owl because they seemed to be mostly white. Regards John |
