No sign when I went with Dad circa 13:45. We crawled along the entire length of Gaysfield Road and Dad and I couldn't find any Rowan trees along the road at all. The only bird life there was a group of about 10 starlings in the tall tree outside the pub on the corner.
What would help in future regarding these reports is to clearly and precisely state the time and more importantly, the place where these birds are in relation to a significant landmark along the road at the time of discovery; perhaps Fishtoft Primary School. Then, dad and I could have avoided wasting time crawling along at a snail's pace almost to Cut End car park!

The Waxwing is one of my dad's favourite birds and like me, he was frustrated and crestfallen at our first collective dip! We got very hopeful indeed around Fishtoft Primary School as there were about eight cars parked on the road and then realised they'd have been the teachers' cars. There was also a group of pupils outside across the road from the school who we again thought might have been taken to see the birds but alas, not.
