Although we have not had the snowfall that others have had further inland, we have certainly had the biting easterly and low temps. Some good winter birds about. Highlights of todays list from JPS and EJM.

Whooper swan 2
Bewick's swan 12 south
Whooper/Bewicks swan 14 south
Pink-footed goose 300 local flock + small numbers arriving
White-fronted goose 6
Barnacke Goose 32 around and another 70 south !
Brent goose 1200 (incl prob black brant)
Velvet scoter 2 (4 have been regular recently)
Yellow legged gull 1 ad
Hen harrier
Common buzzard (a pale bird poss reported previously as rough leg)
Merlin 2
Lapwing - 184 moving south
Dunlin 40 south and several appearing in unusual places (see Phil Espin posting)
Black-tailed godwit - 1 down to 10 ft per Rob Martyr
Woodcock 80+ !
Snipe c 20 arriving from N and E in ones and twos
Jack snipe
Barn owl
Short-eared owl 2
Skylark c800 including 600 south.
Shorelark 16+
snow bunting
Lapland bunting
Blackcap
Firecrest - feeding in nettles with 2 goldcrest on W Dunes
Goldcrest 5

You've pretty much got it all Kev - I forgot to tell John that I also had 2 Waxwing ( near Mere ) and 1 ad Med Gull ( inland towards Croft Marsh ) plus about 150 Grey Plover feeding around Greenshanks
Creek with the Gulls.
