Huttoft pit: (water completely frozen) house sparrow, snipe, carrion crow, magpie, common & black-headed gulls. c200 pinkfeet in fields to the west of the hide. Pond just north of the pit: (most of water ice free) mute swan 1 ad, whooper swan 9 (4 ad - 5 juv), canada goose 1, c300 wigeon on pond and feeding in surrounding field. Field north of pumping station (half way between huttoft & sandilands pits) large mixed group of swans = mute 15, whooper 49. Cheers, George. |
