Good numbers of Common (Mealy) Redpolls, Lesser Redpolls and Siskins at Bourne Wood this year. So far 20 Common Redpoll, 60+ Lesser Redpoll and 20 Siskins have been ringed. In the last week in Bob Sheppard's garden we have caught:-

Norwegian-ringed Common Redpoll (only the 7th foreign-ringed Common Redpoll for the UK)
Belgian-ringed Lesser Redpoll
Dutch-ringed Siskin

I have put a comparison photo of Common and Lesser Redpoll in the discussion birds album.

Still several Common (Mealy) Redpolls amongst the Lesser Redpolls coming to Bob Sheppard's garden at Bourne. Siskin numbers now appear to be building up in Bourne Wood.

I have put some more field shots of Common/Lesser in the rare birds folder
