I visited the Thurlby Pit 12.45 - 2.00pm today (Saturday) in bright sunshine.

Comments and additions to Mark's post :

The 9 Whooper Swans (still in 2 distinct groups) were present throughout, although the juvenile had broken away from its adult group and was feeding some 250 - 300yards distant.
90 - 100 Grey-lag Geese were there on my arrival but didn't stay long.
2 Canada Geese
2 Red-crested Pochard, Little Grebe and a very active Green Sandpiper on the mud bars to the right of the usual first viewing point off the Thurlby Road.

On the way back to BBH I checked out the well-laden berry trees on the Witham St Hugh's bypass road but there was nothing to report ( as yet......)
