Extremely elusive during the afternoon - failed to find it. However, Barnacle geese and White-fronts still on reserve. Enormous numbers of Wigeon, Lapwing and Teal on all scrapes. Also circa 10 Snipe, 5 Little Grebe, 2 Dunlin, few Knot, 4 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 30 Goldfinch, 7 Mute Swan, 5 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 female Scaup, lots of Moorhen and Coot. To accomplish your mission of attracting Bittern to the reserve within 2.5 years of planting the first reedbeds is excellent! |
