This morning on the patch:- 12 Gadwall 32 Shoveler 73 Teal 1 Grey Heron seen to catch and swallow, with ease, a pike of c450mm 2 Golden Plovers briefly with the Lapwings 504 Lapwings roosting in shallow water (record number for mere) 2 Snipe and 1 Jack Snipe feeding in cutting 8 51 Common Gulls (39 on mere & 12 on cow field) 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull 1 Song Thrush c30 Redwings 2 Mistle Thrushes c40 Fieldfares with Dean Nicholson |
