After being on a wild goose hunt at Wainfleet we headed for Gibraltar Point. There we had an interesting conversation with one of the young volunteers who told us of the extremely high tide there on Sunday night when much of both the car parking areas near the visitor centre were flooded with the water almost reaching the main door to the centre.
I was was able to get some photo's of a Black Redstart feeding on the high tide line - in the car park!
It would be interesting to hear from Kev as to how often the tide has reached this level in recent times?

Roy

Just catching up after being away this week.

The Sunday night tide was clearly much larger than predicetd and from the evidence I have seen this evening, it compares at least to a tide that occured in Feb 1996. No-one here received a warning from the Environment Agency - so presume they had not predicted this scenario.

Cheers

Kev
