No sign of the Great Grey Shrike between Hemingby and Goulceby first thing but 14 Tree Sparrow and 4 Bullfinch in the area. Hemingby Lane near Horncastle Golf Club produced (250) Fieldfare and another 3 Bullfinch. A mixed flock of small birds on Hemingby Lane about a mile out of Horncastle proved to be (50) Tree Sparrow with smaller numbers of Reed Bunting and Yellowhammer. Nearby were a flock of at least 80 Corn Bunting perched up in a lone tree. At Kirkby on Bain Pits a Red Kite went south at 1120 and the Great White Egret still present on South West Pits though flighty. Still showing yellow feet in flight 4 Lesser Black Backed Gulls and at least 1 1W/2CY Yellow Legged Gull amongst larid on the tip. Regards Nige |
