Barry Clarkson found a singing Icterine Warbler this afternoon. Its at the back of the dunes, just north of Saltfleet Haven about 50 yards south of the caravan site. He saw the bird and taped the song which is very voluble, liquid and distinctive.

I spent an hour there from 5.15 to 6.15 pm and though it sung regularly from deep buckthorn it was very difficult to see. I only had brief flight views. It was cold, grey and windy so not the best viewing conditions but thanks to JRC for the call.

I had 5 Whimbrel fly over and I gather Barry had a Nightingale by the car park when he first arrived at the site mid afternoon, seen but not singing.

Thanks for that John. Have just received a text from 'Birdnet Pager'. It was reported seen again at 'Saltfleet Haven' this evening.
