Red Kite now seen regularly around Welbourn Heath but have not been able to establish whether a pair is present as yet. The ever scarcer Corn Bunting can still be found on the High Dyke on Welbourn Heath for anyone who has forgotten what they look like! Hobby over the Cliff Edge at Welbourn 16th June. Bullfinch left nest on 23rd June. Great tit brood hatched today at Moor Close Reserve Woodhall Spa on 16th - this means they will fledge in early July; seems quite late? |

There seem to be a number of Red Kites seen regularly around the county this year in places where no breeding is suspected. Quite possibly 2nd summer birds or 3rd summers looking for a mate. Please note in line with LBC rare breeding bird policy that once you see a pair of birds you suspect are breeding please don't post on here, notify the county recorder for your location. |
