Whilst doing the WEBS count at Woodlands Pits, Market Rasen this morning there was a very vocal Nuthatch in the surrounding Willows plus a Common Tern fishing. Only 1 juvenile Coot tends to confirm a poor breeding season |

Your sole juvenile Coot reflects the picture here at Donna Nook, Stuart. Four pairs have nested on the flashes this year, and whilst all of them hatched young ones, only one juvenile has reached the fully-grown stage. I think that the weather is almost wholly to blame as I doubt that more than the odd one has been predated. Steve. |
