Colin, Cov Res is either a good or a fairly quiet normmally the latter. With the highlights being the Great Crested Grebe. Common sandpiper isn't to bad. Photography wise it's very challenging most birds are distant except the waders and the Common Sandpipers fly off well before you reach them. Keep going though you never know what might turn up. I have found some nice birds there this year; Scotter, Wood Sandpiper and Red Throated Diver. The one thing thats disapointed me is the lack of rarer grebes in the whole county, we have the BNG at Frampton but Cov normally picks up a few on passage so hopefully anytime in the next month one will be found. |
