Another walk around the resevoir this evening 11/09. I did what I have said to myself i would do for a long time. Count all the birds on the resevoir (apart from gulls) This wasn't easy as it was quite choppy on the resevoir and the birds were a lot more spread around the resevoir as they are normally tucked away in 3 of the corners.

30 Great-crested Grebe
6 Little Grebe
254 Mallard
5 Cormorant
9 Pied wagtail
176 Coot
109 Tufted duck
1 Pintail Female A first for me.
1 Teal
3 Gadwall
1 Common Sandpiper
1 Dunlin
At least 5000 Gulls

I saw one "Big Gull" That had a lot of dark grey around the head i'm not great with larids and will post a poor picture tomorrow.

I won't be couting mallards a coots everytime I visit but I will try to do it once a week.

I have just come across an old picture of mine taken at Covenham Reservoir of the pumping station and there are about 50 cormorant. I was wondering if anyone know what the highest count of coromorants at one site in Lincs? or just at Covenham.

A text from Dean Eades, That there was a Slav grebe on north wall and Covenham. Thanks Dean

So I packed my stuff and raced to Covenham were the bird was napping in the north east corner.

Also

2 Rock Pipit my first at Cov and a year tick
6 Lapwing on the Reservoir itself.

I only walked to the Noth East corner as I was in a rush.
