Totally calm conditions made it easy to scan the sea from the low level for a change, which was particularly useful given the number of birds present on the sea:

Common scoter, c900 with c850 all in 1 raft. This is the largest group I've seen in Lincs, but unfortunately they were further out than is often the case on the Fife coast, so picking up related species was not possible.
Eider, 1 drake
Red-throated diver, 10
Great-crested grebe, 5
Guillemot, 3
Teal, 8
Shelduck, 2
Gannet, 12
Birds on the shore/marsh:
Brent goose, 220
Redshank, 135
Oystercatcher, 63. Big reduction in numbers so far this autumn
Curlew, 76
Bar-tailed godwit, 17
Knot, 14
Ringed plover, 4
Dunlin, 2. Most uncommon wader yet again.
Sanderling, 3
Grey plover, 5
Golden plover, 380
Lapwing 70
Cormorant, 3
Little egret, 7
Peregrine, 1
Merlin, 1
Kestrel, 1
Lapland bunting, 5
Skylark, 90+
Rock pipit, c20
Linnet, 5

Cliff
