Birklands Ring Group members who are staying with us have asked me to put a sighting of a bleck-winged stilt that flew across the dunes heading SW yesterday.
Also, 1 of the group, who is staying at Maltby-le-Marsh caravan complex, had a nightjar churring away last night. The group have their own nightjar study programme in Nottinghamshire and seem to attract this species because they had one in the dunes this time last year as well.
Here today, it was very much quieter in the strong winds, although a few song thrushes, redwings and blackbirds were coming in early morning.
There were around 6 jays locally, but no movements.
