There was no sign of the Woodlark at the south end today. Skylark numbers on the Outmarsh had decreased by about half, too. The only thrushes were 20 Blackbirds, 3 Redwings and 2 Fieldfares. Significant birds were 4 Chiffchaffs, 7 Goldcrests, 6 Siskins, 8 Lesser Redpolls, 4 Twite, Jay, Water Rail, 4 Lapland Buntings, Woodcock, 63 Pink-footed Geese, 9 Whooper Swans, 60 Common Scoters, 63 Curlews, 2nd cy Mediterranean Gull, Kittiwake, Peregrine and Merlin. |

Also at Donna Nook 21/10 (all north of Quad 3) Highlights being: 7 Whooper Swan (2 & 5 in off) 2 Pale-bellied Brent Geese 39 Little Egret 1 Short-Eared Owl 1 Peregrine 1 Spotted Redshank 1 Greenshank 1 Kingfisher 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker 2 Fieldfare 30 Redwing 8 Song Thrush A flock of 17 Mistle Thrushes (with a single Redwing in tow) flying around next to the RAF base and then settling on nearby telegraph wires was an unexpected but impressive sight 3 Jay 1 Chiffchaff 15 Goldcrest 11 Long-tailed Tit 1 Brambling 26 Greenfinch 1 Lapland Bunting regards Chris |
