Clearer weather had enabled some birds to move on, but some good numbers of thrushes still present. Blackbirds and Song Thrushes were largely confined to the dunes, whereas Redwings and Fieldfares were almost all on the coastal fields. Today's counts from Stonebridge to south of Quad 3 were 800 Redwings, 450 Fieldfares, 300 Blackbirds, 100 Song Thrushes, 11 Ring Ouzels, 90 Robins, 40 Goldcrests, 6 Chiffchaffs, Blackcap, Common Redstart, Black Redstart, 2,200 Starlings, 10 Bramblings, 2 Lesser Redpolls, 2 Woodcocks, 3 Snow Buntings, 13 Swallows, 3 Sparrowhawks, 8 Whooper Swans, 40 Pink-footed Geese and 400 Brent Geese. |
