| Post subject: | Great-spotted Woodpecker - Woodhall Spa |
As I was walking around Woodhall, keeping up my image, I heard a Woodpecker calling. As the sound grew louder and louder, it seemed to be coming from above me. There, at the top of a tree (which had sheded its leaves) in the middle of the pavement, opposite The Golf Hotel, there it was. As I got closer and closer, it seemed to be oblivious to me. I'm pretty sure it was a Great-spotted Woodpecker, though it possibly could have been a Lesser-spotted Woodpecker. I didn't have my binoculars on me; however, my binoculars were being used by my sister in Ghana, so that's a good excuse for not having my binoculars on me!!!!! |
