Many of the Redwings, Fieldfares and other migrants had departed from the south end. The best birds today were 2 Waxwings which dropped in just before midday. The most interesting birds otherwise were 100 Blackbirds, 3 Ring Ouzels, 30 Song Thrushes, a mere 21 Redwings and 6 Fieldfares, 30 Robins, 4 Chiffchaffs, 20 Bramblings, 2 Woodcocks, 1,800 Starlings, 1,600 Golden Plovers, 3 Whooper Swans, 100 Brent Geese and a Merlin. |

While seal-wardening this afternoon, between car park and south end of visitors path: 8 goldcrest 1 woodcock 2 brambling 2 ring ouzel 1 merlin large flock fieldfare also hen harrier seen over car park 16.00 14 seal pups so far. Geoff |
